favicon final c An Update from (and about) Crafting Addie!

A new look and a modified plan.

The first and last time I posted on Crafting Addie was in March of 2020. Yes, right before the COVID-19 pandemic caused a massive shutdown.

Everywhere.

I had high hopes to launch a new website people could visit to find fun, creative, and heartwarming content. Then, my three kids had to be setup with remote learning at home and my dream was put on hold. Again.

I am a BIG believer in two things. Technically, I believe in many things but for the purpose of this post, I will stick with two.

  1. Everything happens for a reason.
  2. Timing is everything.

Everything Happens for a Reason

Rewind two years and I think about all of the changes that have happened. With the exception of making crafts at home and selling Scentsy online, I was pretty much unemployed. We spent the holidays away from my family due to social distancing. My father’s cancer worsened and he passed away last year. My kids and I moved in with my mom – for several reasons. I was hired as a Virtual Assistant by an awesome fellow blogger and friend of mine. Then, she introduced me to several opportunities to help expand my ability to work from home.

Timing is Everything

I hate to say it but….I believe the pandemic has actually been a blessing in disguise for some families. I honestly don’t mean to be insensitive to the people who have lost their lives due to the virus. My heart breaks for every family that is hurting because of it. I apologize, in advance, if I have upset anyone by saying that. However, had it not been for the shutdown, I might not have had the courage to withdraw my daughter from a school that didn’t support her needs. I also might not have the knowledge and experience I have now from the part-time jobs I started last year as well as the ability to homeschool my kids. All of which I can do from – you guessed it – home.

Lessons I Learned

  1. How to be more flexible with my time and mindful of how I use it.
  2. Appreciate everything and everyone that has influenced my growth.
  3. Find more ways to give back and “pay it forward”. I was actually already doing this.
  4. Listen more.
  5. Care more.
  6. Do more.

Future posts on this blog will focus mostly on craft projects, ways to earn money working from home, some food inspiration, fun things to do, and so much more. The occasional “random thought” will be included because, sometimes, I really need to vent.

Ultimately, my hope is that I will be able to touch your lives in a positive and impactful way. If you would like to receive my newsletter with recent posts, please subscribe here. I haven’t decided on how often I will send it but it is free to register and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Have a great day!
